Dear Mom and Dad,This week was a really good week. Well I did eat a lot more buuz
this week and let me just say that I am really sick of buuz right now.
I have eaten probably over 100 this week and I really don't even want
to really look at another one for like another week or two or month.
Well I went around in our deel for a few more days and then I stopped
because it really drew attention though most of it was good. Well
also my companion got a little sick on the last night we were eating
buuz so we went home a little early. Well you saw some of my
pictures. So my favorite one is probably the one with the sisters
just because I rarely get pictures with the sisters. Well I did sing
as an alto in our MTC group quartet of I am a child of god or Bi
Burhanii huuhed tul. Great song and it sounded really good. Well we
didn't have a ton of lessons this week but it was okay because we were
literally eating at everybody's house. Let me just say that having
somebody offer your a snuff bottle of tobacco on the bus is really
hard. We don't have to snuff it but you at least are supposed to
pretend to snuff it. And on a moving bus it is really hard. A lot
Mongolians think that we are russian so they will sometimes really
respect us and speak in Russian to us. Funnily enough the Mongolians
really respect the Russians in fact there is a statue of several of
the famous communist leaders in the city. Actually one of them just
recently disappeared. No one can really explain how a whole big
statue disappeared but it has. Well other than that we also had Zone
Conference this last week. That was really fun and I learned so much
about it especially the atonement. I always thought I understood the
atonement correctly but just recently I had to readjust my thinking of
it a little bit. Well that was a blast. The beginning of this week
was actually really warm but it just dropped again so who knows when
it will get warm again. I started teaching English again today. They
gave all of the really hard classes to me just because I guess they
figure I am young and I can take the rowdy classes. There are 2 older
couples that teach at my school too and they gave all of them my old
classes. Well it will be an interesting semester. The girl that I
failed didn't complain to me today and I think it is because she knows
that she really cheated. Well it was an interesting day today. Well
other than that there is really no other big news other than the fact
that a new mission president has been called. He served in Mongolia
in 1996 and so did his wife. They are both really young and have 4
little children. That should really be a change for the mission here.
Apparently since President Clark came to Mongolia on emergency notice
he will only be here for 2 years. Well other than that the news is
the same. Well it sounds like home is okay and I hope that the
missionaries ate plenty of food on my behalf because believe me, I
have eaten a lot on their's. Well it is so cool that you got to go to
the temple. I can't wait to go to the temple myself. Well this week
was really just Tsagaan Sar. Well I love you all and wish you the
best of luck. Love Elder Williams
Dear Little Sisters,
So this week has been really good and it has been so nice to be
able to read your emails. I love reading your emails every week.
Well you can read all about my tsagaan sar in the other email. Well
this week I learned a lot of different things about the atonement from
our mission president. I thought I had understood it correctly before
but I guess I really didn't quite understand it all the way. I had
always kind of thought that Jesus kind of like took the demands of
justice on himself for us but that isn't quite true. It isn't fair to
have 1 man die in place for another one and so this isn't satisfying
justice at all. (See Alma 34) I really want to explain it in this
email but it would fill my entire email. Also it is really hard to
understand at first but now I get it a little better. I would explain
more but just read like Alma 34 and think about how one man can't die
in place for another. It makes judgement look quite a bit different.
Anyways I am still struggling to comprehend it but the scriptures make
sense. Well sorry about that rant. Well Caelen, why are you so star
struck over a few missionaries that taught you how to tie a tie? I
can teach you how to build a ger but I don't see you talking about me
that way. Just kidding :) WEll keep up the good work. Rachel,
Congratulations!!!! You have finished the book of Mormon. Now the
question is have you tried Moroni's promise? Go ahead and try it. By
the way I hope that you buy me a blizzard when I get home because the
one thing that Mongolia is truly lacking is blizzards. Hey Rachel,
good luck on your sickness. Just sleep good and long and drink plenty
of liquids and get over it. Be thankful that you aren't here because
if you were you might have to drink your mother's......Well you can
figure that out. Well Rebecca, you are so popular!!!!!!!! yeah this
week was really warm. I was sweating so much when it got up to 8.
Yeah.....I mean it. :) Hey congratulations on being "pretty
productive" I am sure that movie pizza cookies and ice cream party
was like the most best thing you have ever done!!! Eat plenty for me.
Well I hope that you enjoyed Pride and Prejudice........kind of. How
is that movie even slightly entertaining? I think I would enjoy
myself more by watching you eat top ramen in slow motion.
YEah.....that boring. Toglison youm maa. Just kidding:) Well
little girls have a great week this next week and I hope that all of
you start feeling better. Love Elder Williams
Dear Kristalyn,
Well the week has been good and you can learn about that in my
other email. Let me just say that I ate way to much. I think I also
ended up drinking some like Milk vodka but I am not too sure. All I
know is that the older couple drank it first so I just followed right
after him. Well I learned alot about the atonement this week. SO
I will tell you after my mission because it is way to much to write in an email.
I am really excited about it. Well happy valentine's day. I
finally told my english classes that I have a girlfriend or I at least
didn't deny the fact that I had one. I did this just because it makes
it a lot easier in the classroom where you have a whole bunch of young
single adults. Well english has started again and they have given me
all of the rowdy classes just because they don't want the older couple
missionaries to have to teach them. The good news is that my school
will be getting a new missionary in the next few weeks so that will
really hopefully help my schedule. Well other than that I am just
surviving the temperatures of Mongolia. It actually got up to 8
degrees and boy that was actually pretty warm. Well I love you and
just keep up the good work back at home. I love you and good luck.

So Dad and Mom speaking of Tsaagan Sar or White month it is today therefore with all of the internet places closed I won't be able to write a lot today. I just wanted to tell you that everything is okay and that we are all just having a really good time. I guess I will tell you about my day today. So first me and Elder Flint went out to a member in the Sukhbaatar branch with a couple and a two sisters that are in my district. It was really fun and we were there also kind of as translators. Well that was really fun and me and my companion looked really good in our deels. I will send some pictures of all of that next week. Well after that we also were invited by a cute little family up on the top of a mountain where me and my companion once again did a little translating for another couple in our branch. well it was really fun but in the end we ended up having to change a flat tire in really cold weather. So the secret to changing a tire in below zero is just that........ changing it. No one else is there to do it but you. So anyways we got that changed really quickly and got back on our way. This week is a little bit harder on the whole missionary side of things because during Tsaagan Sar it really isn't that acceptable to teach lessons and sometimes you can offend them by doing it. Well that once fun anyways and me and my companion are really full right now. Luckily we are kind of free the rest of the night so we are doing okay right now. But if we had another we really would have exploded for sure. Let me just say that those buuz despite how small they are, are really filling. Well so far the count isn't that high but I will eat more. I just don't want to have to resort to vomiting to make space for more food. (Some Elder's do that or others just drink a lot of Coke) Well there was a mongolian that said that if we drank Vodka it would help keep us healthy over Tsaagan Sar. I'm not too sure about that. Well don't worry, I don't plan on drinking any vodka. Well sorry that the email is a little shorter right now but due to all of the hustle and the bustle we don't have a lot of time for a long email right now. well I love you and just keep up the good work there in Utah. Love Elder Williams PS It will eventually warm up.....or I am at least hoping that. :)
Sisters,
Hey I love you all and I can't write much this week due to white month holiday. But you are all awesome and just keep up the smiling faces. Love you and send you some pictures next week.
Kristalyn,
Yes you are my favorite older sister. Sorry I can't write hardly any at all today due to today being white month holiday. So don't worry I am doing fine and I am really saddened by our cousins unfortunate news. Well I love you and just keep up being you. Promise to write you more next time.

Dear Mom and Dad,
So this week has been really good. So I got my new companion
named Elder Flint. He is really good and he is from Colorado but he
lived in Payson about a year before he came out on his mission. Well
he is actually taller than me and so that makes us the tallest
companionship in the Mongolian mission field. It is really funny
seeing the both of us being on a bus. Well also this week has been a
little warmer. We are starting to see a little bit of snow melt but
to be honest it will probably snow a little more before spring. Well
this week was good because we had one of our investigators come to
church. He is doing pretty good and he has a lot of church friends.
SO Mom asked me what I eat for breakfast and I would have to say the
it ranges from Cream of Wheat (In Mongolia they call it children's
rice) or eggs or maybe if I am in a good mood oatmeal. Every once and
a while we get cereal but that is pretty expensive here and the cream
of wheat stuff is dirt cheap. So that is what I eat for breakfast.
So speaking of Odmaa as far as I know she is doing well. She is
actually living in India right now but she should be coming back
pretty soon. After that if she did well on her tests she will try and
study in America or if she didn't do too well she will study in China
for a little while and then come to America. She told us that one of
her goals in life is to go to the Salt Lake Temple and knowing her it
is possible that she will get there. So the question is what kind of
suit should I make? I could get one custom made here for really
cheap. Speaking of that I actually found a woman that makes Mongolian
ties and she is making three for me right now. It is really
inexpensive and I thought Dad would want one so I went ahead and did
it. Well for some reason all of the things I did this last week are
kind of escaping my mind. Oh yeah so my Mongolian language is really
doing better with the Lord's help. He is really helping me. Right
now I actually am translating about every Sunday for the older
missionary couple in my branch. I translate from Mongolian to English
and then the returned missionaries from America translate from English
to Mongolian. It is just easier that way. So that has really showed
me that the Lord has really helped me. I'm still not perfect and
probably will never be but I'm doing pretty good. Iam sorry But
mykeyboard died.
Dear Little Sisters,
You are the shuu. You guys are truly good examples to all of your
friends. Just keep up the good work and remember bi ta nart hairtai.
(I love you both) Well this week has been pretty good and I have got
a new companion now named Elder Flint. He is doing really well and
this is my first companion that is actually taller than me. Well he
is doing really well and the both of us are the giants of the mission.
Well I will have to send you pictures of him later. The problem is
that this new really nice computer lab I am sitting in doesn't seem to
have that many flash drive outlets so anyways maybe next week. Well I
am still in my old area so that is great. Well it sounds like your
week was pretty good this week. Caelen I am so proud that you have
finished your time with Noen Corry. (yeah that's right, I wrote it in
Mongolian) :) I bet you were totally freaking out during the test.
Well it wasn't as hard as you thought right? Now just take the test
and you will have a license. I can't wait for you to drive me around
when I get home. Everyone kind of has a different driving style and I
can't wait to see yours. Well ceramics sounds really great. And that
whole guy thing sounds really interesting. Just don't talk to him for
the rest of your life. :) So the whole Geo cashing sounds really
fun. I really will enjoy those more often now that I literally walk
everywhere. I look so funny in the mirror now. I am soooo skinny.
It is so weird. I feel like Big Bird. Anyway I just barely
remembered the jack frost game and can't wait to play it again with
you. That was really fun you and me just kind of having stupid fun on
the computer. Well Rachel, I am so glad that you have survived
coming back to school. That sounds really great. That sounds so
cool that you just watched movies all day long. I haven't done that
in well....a long time. Just make sure to get Shylo to curl up on the
couch next to you. WEll I hope the whole Romeo and Juliet thing was
good. I never really liked Shakespeare but I heard a few of his plays
are good. Something like that. Well that whole movie thing is really
good of you. SO many people fall into a trap of spiritual
insensitivity to things like that. I'm glad that you understand but
we always, always need to watch out for things like this. It will be
a battle our entire lives to try and now what is good and what is
wrong. Well I love you little girls sooooo much and just want you to
know that you are truly really great. Well bayartai and amjilt husie.
(Good bye and good luck) PS. I am getting pretty good at mongolian.
(with the lord's help)
Kristalyn,
Well I was able to write a little bit more to you it seems like. Well
thank you for writing me and I really appreciate you. It sounds like
you are really having a good time up there right now. I will try and
send some really good pictures next week. I am writing from my new
companion's english sponsor so I will probably always be writing a
little earlier now. Well I don't know if rebecca will email me in
time but if she doesn't just tell her that I love her a lot. Anyways
I really can't wait to come and chill with you when I get home. Also
great job on playing bingo with old people. I have really come to
enjoy old people ever since I have come into the mission field and
been around the older couple missionaries. Of course they aren't that
old but it is still really fun to talk with them. My personality has
actually changed in that way and I really have become to enjoy talking
with people. Well I love you soo much and keep up the great work up
and BYU. I know that you are doing a wonderful job. Good luck and I
love you. Love Elder Williams
